The block idea is nice, I think it works well for chapters and I can see how you could use a block as a scene, with chapters in columns, but often that’s over kill for a lot of novel writing.
I’d love a scene break formatter within a block (similar to the way you set headings currently) and this could be formatted to ePub for use on Kindle etc.
The current suggested method of Scene Breaks also doesn’t work well - I think there will be a lot of export issues with this. How will it end up in an ePub and a tool like Kindle Create or Vellum, and how will you then format your scene break indicator?
Could you clarify what you mean by “suggested method of Scene Breaks”?
I’d personally suggest using Heading 1 elements to indicate new chapters.

The suggested method being the one in the video - organising the columns by chapters and creating a scene per block in the column.
It’s up to personal preference, but I think I’d suggest a block per chapter. That would show up as h1 in the doc.
More context: The blocks don’t really change the way the document looks, so it wouldn’t interfere with ePubs etc. It’s still up to you how you format the doc, e.g. if you use Headings for blocks or normal text. The blocks just allow you to switch to a birds-eye-view of your doc, but the don’t interfere with the layout.

Just so we’re all on the same page here, I want a tagged marker in the block that indicates a scene break so when it’s exported to ePub, an editing software (like Vellum or Kindle Create) will pick it up. Then I can format the scene break descriptor however I like with the formatting software. I’m worried that at the moment (and I’ll wait for the coming ePub feature and test this), it’s going to end up imported as a bunch of separate chapters, requiring a lot of cut and pasting to combine them back together to put the scene breaks in.

Right, those wouldn’t be inserted via blocks. We will add a line element that you can use to set these up.

Perfect! I am really enjoying the software so far, the video was a great introduction to the features. Looking forward to the upcoming ePub export. Thanks for your consideration.
Was the line element for scene breaks ever added? I am using 0.174.0 and can’t find it.
Hi, following up on this. Is there a line element ready for us to use? I presently utilize “#” between scenes, but it doesn’t show up when I export my manuscript to Word.
